After many years of working in the fine wine industry- both domestically and internationally, my family and I decided to settle in the Umpqua Valley of Southern Oregon. Our goal is to to produce limited quantities of Boutique, Terroir based wines. We acquired HillCrest Winery and Distillery, Oregon’s Oldest Estate Winery and Distillery and the Birthplace of Oregon Pinot Noir in 2003. Located in the Melrose area of Roseburg, and near the attractions of Crater Lake, The Oregon Caves, Oregon’s Shakespeare Festival and the beautiful Oregon Coast. Our family’s winery and new distillery specializes in Creating artisan wines and spirits that embodies the diverse nature of Southern Oregon. Everything from Old World delicate whites and big bold reds to delicate white spirits made from the diverse fruits grown in our local area. My wife and I invite you to stop by for a tour and tasting. Amongst the varieties we produce are Tempranillo, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Zinfandel, Riesling, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Gewurtztraminer and of course- Oregon's First Pinot Noir. In 2011 we celebrate our 50th anniversary as the “Birthplace of Oregon Pinot Noir and Oregon’s Oldest Estate Winery. We invite you to let us share our family’s passion for naturally made wines from the states oldest dry farmed hillside vineyards. There are many options when it comes to staying and dining and we encourage you to call and let us help you set up a stay in a local bed and breakfast and find a nice place to picnic. In addition, our Wine Club is a way to stay attuned of our small and unique offerings if you are from outside the Umpqua Valley area. The wines Produced by Hillcrest VIneyard is Unique to its Home, and is Not Sold in Stores.
